I'm going to China!

Hello! My name is Allison. I am ten years old and I am in fifth grade. I'm leaving for China on Friday. I am excited for my trip to Yunnan (You-non) and Guangdong. Right now, I only know how to say thank you (Xie Xie) and hello (Ni Hao). I hope to learn a lot more. I had to get three shots to go on this trip. One for typhoid, one for the flu and the last one was for chicken pox. We are going to be on one plane for 14 hours and 38 minutes from Chicago to Hong Kong!

I am most excited to meet Zhi. Her picture is above. Zhi is the girl that I sent to school. She likes to play basketball and she said she would teach me to play. I will get to meet her on November 9th and I will be able to visit her village.

That's it for now ~ Allison

Hello! I am so happy now that I have heard that you are coming to our school. When I think that we will meet each other soon and play basketball together, I’m so excited that I can’t sleep at night.

Now, in my hometown, there is a fruit that is ripe, it’s called Huang Fei Gong Gan ~a type of mandarin orange. I don’t know if you’ve heard about them. I will carry a few of them over to school for you to try. I’m looking forward to seeing you, we’ll be very happy when we see each other. Best regards to you and all the members of your family. ~ Zhi
